  1. What is the expected survival rate for new trees after (a) one, (b) three and (c) five years.
  2. Does the Government track the number of new trees that survive initial planting; if so, (a) what proportion of trees planted annually since 2020 remain alive today and (b) how do those figures compare to the expected survival rates referred to in part (1).
  3. How many trees planted in greenfield development areas such as the Molonglo Valley have been replaced due to mortality annually since 2020.
  4. How are watering and maintenance contracts for new tree plantings evaluated.
  5. Do the contracts referred to in part (4) include performance measures related to tree survival or establishment success.
  6. What monitoring or auditing processes are in place to ensure watering practices are effectively reaching newly planted trees to maximise survival rates.
