  1. Are there any plans to install street lights along the walking track from the northside of Maribyrnong Avenue near the St Mark Coptic Orthodox Church to the easternmost alleyway that intersects with Rubicon Street and beyond.
  2. Are there any plans to install street lights along the alleyways that intersect with Rubicon Street.
  3. How many pieces of feedback has the Government received about street lights in this area since 1 January 2021.
  4. Have there been any studies to implement lights for safety in this area, given this area is popular for foot traffic.

Answer
  1. There are currently no immediate plans to install streetlights along the walking track from Maribyrnong Avenue through to the alleyway intersecting Rubicon Street. However, this section of path and its nearby connections are being considered for suitability under the TCCS ‘infill’ lighting program.
  2. See response to question 1. 
  3. TCCS has received two requests related to lighting in this area. 
  4. At this stage, no studies have been undertaken in relation to lighting in this area. However, if the site is found suitable for further investigation, a lighting level assessment will be undertaken to inform next steps.
