Answer

(1)   The detailed design for the William Hovell Drive duplication is 95% complete and is awaiting the outcome of the development application process. The notice of decision is expected in the first quarter of 2023. The phasing of the project is currently under consideration and will influence the timing of the next stages of the project including the construction tender.

(2)   Earlier during the design phase of the project, the shared user path (from the Drake-Brockman Drive side) was located on the eastern side of William Hovell Drive (WHD). Following extensive community consultation, it was agreed to move the shared path to the western side of WHD. Please refer to Attachment A which shows the previously proposed shared user path alignment (in red), the new shared user path alignment (in green) and the indicative modified alignment for the Bicentennial National Trail (in turquoise). This plan was put on the YourSay website.
