Answer

(1) Members of the ACT Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board are not compensated for their involvement on the Board.

(2) These arrangements have not changed since the Board was created. Membership has never been compensated.

(3) The ACT Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board was established in March 2019 with the following members:

  • Director-General, ACT Health Directorate (Chair);
  • Chief Executive Officer, Canberra Health Services;
  • Regional Chief Executive Officer, Calvary ACT;
  • Dean, College of Health and Medicine, Australian National University;
  • Executive Dean of Health, University of Canberra;
  • Executive Director, Health Care Consumers’ Association; and
  • Deputy Director-General, ACT Health Directorate.

Given the importance of general practitioners and the primary health network for the ACT health system, the Chair sought endorsement from Board members for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Capital Health Network (CHN) to become a standing member of the Board in May 2021.

The CEO of CHN has been a member of the Board since June 2021. This change of membership was agreed by consensus of the Board and formalised in the revised terms of reference agreed by the Board in October 2021.

(4) There are no incentives or allowances offered to members of the ACT Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board.

(5) Members of the ACT Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board were not compensated by the ACT Government for their trip to Singapore in 2022.

  • The two ACT Government employees who attended the trip (Ms Rebecca Cross, Director-General of ACT Health Directorate and Mr Dave Peffer, Chief Executive Officer of Canberra Health Services) received their usual salary and were not paid anything additional for their time during the trip.
  • Member organisations covered wages and travel costs for their staff, with the exception of the Executive Director of the Health Care Consumer Association, whose travel costs were covered by the ACT Health Directorate due to the Association’s status as an ACT Government funded peak body.

(6) The ACT Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board meets bi-monthly for 1.5 hours each meeting. Two planning days were also scheduled in 2021 to review the remit of the Board and revise its terms of reference.
