(Proposed Development adjacent to Holy Trinity Primary School and Early Learning Centre)
In relation to DA 202644959 in Curtin (Block 7–8, Section 61, 3–5 Strangways Street), for a proposed 5-storey, 54-unit development immediately adjacent to Holy Trinity Primary School and Early Learning Centre, (a) what assessments, advice, and modelling has the Government relied upon to assess a development that will introduce sustained construction noise, dust, and disruption in close proximity to school buildings and playgrounds, (b) what assessment and advice has been considered for the placement of an electrical substation near areas used by children, including health and safety risks, (c) what traffic modelling has been undertaken to assess increased vehicle movements associated with both construction and ongoing use of the development, (d) what child safety and privacy assessments have been undertaken in relation to residential units and a publicly accessible rooftop plaza overlooking into school grounds and play areas and (e) will the Minister provide (i) all child safety, health and education impact assessments, including consultation with education or health authorities, (ii) detailed traffic and parking modelling, including projected vehicle movements and mitigation measures for school peak periods, (iii) all privacy and overlooking risk assessments, including conditions imposed to prevent visual surveillance of school grounds, (iv) the proposed location of the electrical substation, including applicable safety standards and required separation distances from school facilities and (v) a detailed explanation of how this development is consistent with the Territory Plan requirement to deliver outcomes tailored to the unique character and needs of the Curtin community, given its proximity to a primary school.
