Minister for Housing and Suburban Development
Answer
  1. The Ginninderry Joint Venture development impacts the original Bicentennial Nation Trail (BNT) route. A future staged BNT route realignment (Attachment A) was agreed with key stakeholders as part of a Memorandum of Understanding executed in 2016. Temporary alignments of the BNT are sometimes required to facilitate safe passage through the trail while construction work is undertaken. These temporary alignment changes are discussed with the ACT Equestrian Association. The Ginninderry JV funds any additional signage required to assist users of the BNT.
  2. The Ginninderry Joint Venture has previously consulted with ACT Government agencies including the Suburban Land Agency and Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate, as well as external stakeholders including Riverview Developments, Bicentennial National Trail Limited and the ACT Equestrian Association. From these engagements the forementioned Memorandum of Understanding was developed.
