(1) The total operating expenses of the ACT Coroners Court (including the Forensic Medicine Centre) for 2022-23 is $3,621,686.

(2) The number of fulltime equivalent (FTE) employees in the ACT Courts and Tribunal is 220 
(at 30 April 2024). Of that, 9.5 FTE employees and a full-time Coroner sit within the Coroners Court. In addition to the full-time Coroner, other Magistrates perform coronial functions as required.

(3) The Coroners Act 1997 does not include provision for statutory review of the ACT Coroners Court.

(4) In accordance with the ACT Remuneration Tribunal ACT Magistrates Court Judicial Positions Determination 12 of 2023, a Magistrate is entitled to remuneration of $404,008 per annum. Additional salary of $7,500 per annum is payable to Magistrates.

(5) The dedicated ACT Coroner is a Magistrate. In accordance with the ACT Remuneration Tribunal ACT Magistrates Court Judicial Positions Determination 12 of 2023, a Magistrate is entitled to remuneration of $404,008 per annum. Additional salary of $7,500 per annum is payable to Magistrates.
