Answer

(1) The motto on the City of Canberra Coat of Arms was updated to reflect the new Sovereign, following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. It now reads “For the King, the Law and the People”.

As the City of Canberra Coat of Arms is used in the ACT Government logo, the ACT Government logo has also been updated to reflect the new motto. Directorate logos and ministerial templates were updated and made available by CMTEDD with internal messaging accompanying the updates.

Directorates were asked to use the new ACT Government logo on all digital materials as soon as practicable. Directorates were advised that hardcopy collateral should only be updated as required, due to the expense to replace these items. This includes logos on ACT Government buildings, vehicles, signage and other assets.

(2) There is no mandated timeframe for the ACT Government to update the logo on assets.
