Has the Wonderschool decided to withdraw from the lease agreement on their site in Macgregor; if so, what can and will happen to this site.

The subject site is located at Block 9 Section 140 Macgregor in the Community Facilities Zone. The land is privately leased under a Crown lease granted in 2018. 

A development application (DA) for the construction of a 150-place childcare centre was conditionally approved on 30 October 2018. The Territory Planning Authority (the Authority) has advised that their records show that the construction of the childcare centre has now been completed. 

The Authority has also advised that they are not privy to any registered interest, by Wonderschool, in relation to this in this site including any agreement between the Crown lessee and the operator of the childcare facility. Under the Community Facilities zone, the lessee is able to pursue a number of community uses, however, altering the building to cater for other uses may be subject to a future DA.
