  1. What compliance and tracking mechanisms are used by Transport Canberra and City Services to monitor trees on privately leased property in the ACT.
  2. What privacy considerations are afforded to residents to mitigate unreasonable government intervention in property monitoring.
  3. What is the total government revenue ($) collected from infringements of tree regulation/legislation broken down by the financial years (a) 2020-21, (b) 2021-22, (c) 2022-23 and (d) 2023-24.

Answer

(1) There is no formal program to monitor trees on privately leased property in the ACT. However, enquiries about compliance are reactively responded to, as they are received. Tree Protection Officers are subject matter experts with training and knowledge to identify compliance issues on privately leased property in the ACT.

(3) No infringements have been issued in relation to tree regulation during this time.
