In relation to the answer to question on notice 676, can the Minister advise (a) whether spending an average of $80,060 per matter represents value for money, noting that the cost of ACT Government Solicitor’s Office's (ACTGSO) services representing Housing ACT in the 2023-2024 financial year is $465,467 for 22 matters, and the amount increased in the 2024-2025 financial year to $1,280,970 for 16 matters, (b) how the Government determines how value for money is calculated, (c) what measures the Government is taking to reduce the legal cost and mental burden on housing tenants defending Housing ACT's proceedings at the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal; if no measures are being taken, why not, (d) in light of the amounts spent funding ACTGSO’s representation to evict social housing tenants, what consideration the Government has given to how directing these funds towards mental health, disability and domestic violence support service referrals could help social housing tenants to avoid eviction proceedings, and ensure it is delivering housing assistance in a manner compliant with its obligations under the Human Rights Act 2004 and the Discrimination Act 1991 and (e) what funding has been allocated and what policies and measures the Government has developed and implemented to comply with its positive duty to make reasonable adjustments for social housing tenants.
