Question - Libraries ACT

1. In relation to ACT public libraries, what is the current full-time equivalent (FTE) budget for each library i.e. for 2023-24.
2. What was the FTE for each library in (a) 2021-22 and (b) 2022-23.
3. For each library, how many positions are vacant and are they included in FTE count referred to in part (1).
4. What was the total employee expense for ACT Libraries for each year since 2016-17.

(1) The total budgeted FTE for Public Libraries in 2023/2024 is 55.36

For noting, where staff members work across two sites, for example Dickson and Civic branch, their FTE is listed as sitting within the larger branch. Civic and Erindale branches are smaller branches and the FTE reflects this, however, does not necessarily indicate it is the only number of staff who work at them.

(2) (a) The total budgeted FTE for Public Libraries in 2021/2022 was 46.85.

(2) (b) The total budgeted FTE for Public Libraries in 2022/2023 was 56.18

(3) As of 16 February 2024, there are 5 FTE vacant across Public Libraries. Recruitment is currently underway to fill these vacancies. These vacancies are counted in budgeted FTE referred to in question one (1).
